Meetings of the FIF — Exchanges with Laurent Probst, Managing Director of Île-de-France Mobilitys On Wednesday 17 June, the Federation of Railway Industries had the pleasure of talking with Laurent Probst, Managing Director of Île-de-France Mobilitys, about the investment priorities of the organizing authority and the prospects they open for the railway sector. With more than 12 million Francilians transported every day and an annual budget of 11.8 billion euros dedicated to the operation of the transport network, Île-de-France Mobilitys today plays a major role as an industrial player at the heart of the Franciscan mobility system. Several structuring topics were at the heart of the discussions: The maintenance of rolling stock, while Île-de-France Mobilitys now owns its fleets. The maintenance operations planned for 2030-2040 represent a considerable industrial volume and raise key issues of market structuring and access to opportunities for the entire industrial ecosystem, from large groups to SMEs. The renewal of RER C trainsets, an estimated €3 billion programme covering approximately 210 trainsets. This project is a major test for the entire railway value chain, with important issues of timing, industrial capacity and visibility related to infrastructure constraints. The next steps of the Grand Paris Express, whose future programming is crucial to enable industrialists to invest, recruit, develop their skills and organise their production capacities over the long term.
