Régions de France and FIF join forces for the Innotrans 2024 trade fair in Berlin

Régions de France and the French Railway Industry Association join forces alongside railway manufacturers at the Innotrans 2024 trade fair in Berlin Paris, 16 September 2024 – Régions de France, a key player in mobility in France, and the French Railway Industry Association (FIF) are proud to announce their joint participation in the Innotrans 2024 trade fair, the world's largest trade fair dedicated to transport technologies, which will be held from 24 to 27 September 2024 in Berlin. A delegation of local elected officials mobilised for rail For the first time, a delegation from Régions de France, made up of several regional elected officials and technical directors responsible for mobility and transport infrastructure, will attend Innotrans, illustrating the central role of the regions and the importance they place on the modernisation and development of rail in France. Through this delegation, Régions de France, in partnership with FIF, intend to strengthen their collaboration with railway industry companies. On the first day of the trade fair, the Régions de France and FIF delegation will tour the exhibition to meet railway sector companies, discover their latest innovations and explore the best solutions for improving rail mobility in the regions. These exchanges will provide an opportunity to strengthen synergies between regional authorities and the railway industry, thereby contributing to a future in which rail transport is more efficient, innovative and better suited to citizens' needs. A political force serving transport In 2023, the regions allocated a budget of €12 billion to mobility, of which €1.86 billion was invested directly in the railway sector. In 2024, this investment rose significantly by €1.3 billion compared with the previous year. These massive investments reflect the growing role of the regions in improving and modernising transport infrastructure, particularly rail, in order to meet the needs of local areas. This momentum is made possible by the political stability of the regions, which gives railway industry companies the visibility and predictability essential to the development of their activities. Unlike the national political context, often marked by fluctuations and uncertainties, the regions provide a stable and consistent working framework, allowing companies to plan their investments over the long term. This regional stability is a major asset for the railway sector, guaranteeing solid partnerships and continuity in mobility projects.
