Official launch of CORIFER

CORIFER, chaired by Carole Desnost, member of the SNCF Executive Board, was officially launched on Monday 14 November. It aims to steer the rail sector's R&D roadmap and bring industrial players together around innovative projects.
"On Monday 14 November, at the Ministerial Steering Committee (CPM) for Transport held in Nevers, chaired by Clément Beaune, Minister for Transport, Roland Lescure, Minister for Industry, and Bruno Bonnell, Secretary General for Investment, the Rail Research and Innovation Steering Committee (CORIFER) was officially launched. Chaired by Carole Desnost, Vice-President and member of the SNCF Executive Board, CORIFER's objective will be to steer the sector's R&D roadmap and to bring industrial players together around structuring and innovative projects. The French Railway Industry Association (FIF) welcomes this announcement, which will help bring together the sector's innovation players. FIF will be particularly involved in the running of this body. The Rail Research, Development and Innovation Steering Committee (CORIFER) is one of the commitments of the Rail Sector Strategic Contract (CS2F) signed in July 2021. Previously, CORIFER referred to a Call for Expressions of Interest (AMI) aimed at supporting research and development projects for the railway industry. Today, with the appointment of Carole Desnost as chair, CORIFER is taking on a new dimension and is being structured as a genuine steering body. CORIFER will continue the collective efforts under way for almost 2 years on innovation and research. In the coming weeks, CORIFER will focus its work on the second AMI, built around 6 priority themes (Decarbonisation, energy efficiency and sobriety, Resilient, high-capacity and digitalised rail infrastructure, Mass transit / metropolitan RER, Acceleration of rail freight, Mobility in low-density areas / light rail and new shared mobility solutions, Risk management, and New design and manufacturing methods). The programme is therefore packed, expectations are high, but the determination of rail industry players is strong. Launch of CORIFER PRESS RELEASE Carole Desnost: A chemical engineer by training, Carole Desnost began her career in 1986 at the PSA group, where she held various positions in research, product development, quality of service marketing, international lobbying and operational sales. In 2008, she joined Rhodia as Advanced Innovation Director, then the equipment manufacturer Plastic Omnium as R&D Director.
