Conference "Ambitions France Transports": the FIF fully engaged This 5th May in Marseille, the work of the conference on the financing of mobility, "Amitions France Transports", initiated by the Government, will open. For several weeks, stakeholders in the sector will exchange in a confidential setting to thoroughly rethink the mechanisms for financing mobility. On this occasion, our President, Patrick Jeantet will represent the Federation of Railway Industries and its members throughout the discussions of Workshop 3 on railway infrastructure and services. The Federation of Railway Industries supports four essential principles for the financing of railway infrastructure and rolling stock: visibility, stability, predictability and trust. For an efficient railway system, it seems essential to: To invest massively and continuously: investment must be increased to €4.5 billion/year to stop the deterioration of the network, automate and digitize the operation, and support the industrialization of railway works. To support and diversify sources of financing: mobilisation of specialised investment funds, shifting of the green taxonomy towards the railway, allocation of a share of motorway tolls after 2031 and reorientation of revenues from the carbon trading system (ETS) to the rail. To create a national ROSCO to pool and secure investments in regional rolling stock, promote standardization, reduce costs and ensure better service quality. To implement a multi-annual, stable and independent policy cycle programming law, which is essential to organise the rise in industrial range, secure investment and ensure a robust future for the sector.
