Roadtrain Girly 2026 in the Grand Est region

On 6 March 2026, ahead of International Women's Rights Day, FIF Grand Est is organising a new stage of the Roadtrain Girly, a national initiative dedicated to promoting railway industry careers to women. This initiative is aimed at women seeking employment, undergoing career retraining or considering their career direction, with a clear goal: to foster the appeal and gender diversity of a strategic sector undergoing major transformation. An immersion close to industrial realities Organised in partnership with Vossloh and CAF in Reichshoffen (67), as well as with the Alsace Industry Apprentice Training Centre and France Travail, this day is based on a concrete, hands-on approach. The Roadtrain Girly in the Grand Est region offers a field experience, close to industrial realities. The day's programme includes: Visits to industrial workshops at Vossloh and CAF, to discover production, engineering and maintenance environments, with a particular focus on positions held by women; Meetings and discussions with female professionals, to better understand career paths, expected skills and development prospects in the railway industry; Presentation of railway training courses and a visit to the Alsace Industry Apprentice Training Centre, to identify qualifying pathways and training schemes; Information sessions led by France Travail, dedicated to job opportunities and support schemes for industrial careers. This immersion aims to move beyond preconceptions and allow participants to genuinely picture themselves in technical, industrial and technological careers. A strategic issue for the regional sector At European level, women represent around 22% of the railway industry workforce*, with marked under-representation in technical and production roles. Against a backdrop of significant recruitment needs, particularly in industrial regions such as Grand Est, gender diversity is a strategic lever. Through this initiative, FIF Grand Est and all its partners reaffirm their collective commitment to a more inclusive sector. About the UIMM Alsace Training Division Every year we train and support more than 4000 people in industrial trades: young people in work-study programmes, jobseekers, employees, as well as industrial companies.
