FIF highlights the dynamism of the French rail sector at InnoTrans 2022
The French Railway Industry Association (FIF) took an active part in the InnoTrans international trade fair in Berlin, showcasing the innovation and international ties of the French rail sector.

On the occasion of InnoTrans 2022, FIF represented the French rail sector with a strong delegation. The trade fair provided an opportunity to celebrate innovations and strengthen international partnerships, in particular through the signing of an agreement with the German organisation VDB.
InnoTrans, the international trade fair for transport engineering, was held in Berlin from 20 to 23 September 2022, after a 4-year absence. Chairman Louis Nègre and the FIF team were present to represent this industrial sector, which ranks third on the international podium. Many member companies in attendance showcased their expertise and innovations. The 217 French exhibiting companies proudly flew the colours of the sector, showcasing their expertise to some 150,000 trade visitors from around 150 countries. At this trade fair, FIF was a partner for two key moments. The French Rail Awards, organised by Business France, gave FIF the opportunity to present the innovation award to the company Gillet Tools, and the French Rail Night brought together, in a convivial setting, French, German and British players, among others, for a moment of exchange the like of which had not taken place in 4 years. The Chairman and the Managing Director of FIF were able to visit the stands of some twenty member companies and discuss their concerns and outlook with them. On Wednesday, during the visit of Clément Beaune, Minister for Transport, Louis Nègre and Igor Bilimoff reminded the Minister, in a meeting, of the pressing need to invest massively in rail in order to meet the major challenge of climate change. Finally, on Thursday, FIF signed a partnership with its German counterpart, VDB, in order to strengthen ties between the two organisations and implement cooperation on the major issues facing the rail sector. It was therefore an intense week for the global rail industry, and FIF had the opportunity to point out that France remains among the world's leading countries. In March 2023, FIF will be pleased to support the SIFER trade fair in Lille, in order to continue the exchanges begun in Berlin.
