Back on the study trip of the FIF Board of Directors to Sweden On 12 and 13 March 2025, the FIF Board of Directors visited Stockholm. The objective? Better understanding of the mechanisms for opening up the Swedish rail market to competition. A program rich in strategic exchanges This trip allowed representatives of the French railway industry to meet the main Swedish players in the sector and explore several major themes: Data sharing: the challenge of trust between Swedish rail players to facilitate transparency and cooperation. Attractiveness and skills: To meet the training and recruitment needs of the railway industry through a common brand image. Financing of railway infrastructure: Alternative financing models in Sweden. Meetings with key Swedish railway players FIF members had the opportunity to discuss with key decision makers, including Roberto Maiorana, Managing Director of Trafikverket, Kristoffer Tamsons, President of JBS and Ulrika Heie, Chairman of the Transport Committee in the Swedish Parliament, as well as Anne Geitmann, Secretary General of Swedtrain (FIF sister organisation). A huge thank you to all the speakers for their sharing, as well as to Bertrand Gryspeert and Peter Johnsson of Vossloh Switch Systems, for their welcome and valuable contribution to the organization of this trip. This immersion allowed rich and inspiring exchanges, with valuable lessons for the future of rail in France.
